Using critical lens theory, the essay explores how art interpretation can shift through an analysis of Artemisia Gentileschi's Judith Slaying Holofernes. Rich in historical and personal context, Gentileschi’s artwork is often cited as one of the earliest works of feminist art. Using different critical lenses, I analyze how different critical lenses influence the understanding of art.
